we hope to welcome you to our amazing community and our very tight-knit family here at Mount Gleason Middle School the community around Mount lease is there a welcoming and there are a lot of nice people and a lot of nice friends and people you can trust I really like my recent and I like it because it's it's very helpful to teacher here are gray microphone about boxes into the staff because they're very kind and caring and if you need anything they're very quick to respond with a quick to help when I transitioned into Mountain Leasing from 5th grade it they made that transition real easy for me I was a little scared coming into middle school but once I met my teachers I was like okay this is going to be a great school year I love language classes in last year it's been way more fun Anna Baker School Monopoly somewhere you have a big big recreational area is not only just used for PE but also for fun when you come is it graded you have to pick an elective and they're really fun there is like Orchestra and ranz and our computer animation engineering choir College Ed to pick whatever you want I know I was with she's my elective ended up choosing computer science has a relaxed technology and learning about technology and programming we actually started making our own website and I'm just really excited for that class it's only that I enjoy doing and it's not just something that I have to do is something that I want to do it and I like doing my toys had the music class last year and they have big concert stage is so beautiful Al-Anon Gleason is like the club because every week he could go to 130 could go to the lake every day if you want to my friends and I go to the club sometimes to listen to music and just be ourselves and our teachers open up their doors at lunch time and have low clubs for them just to socialize in a non curricular base piano program giving them some other place to go it's really like fun and like really cool you can meet other people I like the same things you do not have any friends coming here cuz she didn't know anybody was coming from outside of community and she has a lot of community that we need to bring the community to school Longleaf has a lot of activities for young people after school activities like srla after school sports or even after school All-Stars one activity in particular that stood out to me even to this day was Egypt day. Was very involved with out of Zion I remember like every single teacher dressed up they all were participating in the game they were very engaged and I think that Justice cry type of stuff on Gleason has hear it monthly for me up to magnet programs this steam program science technology engineering arts and math and the gifted high-ability magnet simplifying at Disney challenges and I think that's like the best part because it really makes my mind works the gifted high-ability magnet the students usually are working at a two-year higher grade level and the gifted magnet Isis they really are they challenge us to make us two more and follow our passions one of the advantages of being a magnet program is the fact that there are classes just with magnet students in there and they have the same students and friendship throughout their 3 years here is they have lost accreditation it helps your child to get credit toward college and high school programs not a lot of schools offer it and they're one of the few in Valley that Havis one of the things that I feel is extremely important in a middle school is to recognize students in their achievements and their willingness even to work hard we have student of the month every month here and the students are recognized for various different reasons and I'm really proud of myself for being sting of the month because I'm getting recognized and it's like as if you were a celebrity for you're not the impact of Middle School can make a difference the rest of their life and we don't take that lightly mock me for high school because the gifted program they had pretty rigorous like courses and I think that's what really helped me develop studying habits from a young age I ended up being valedictorian my high school I ended up going to UC San Diego and I'm shadowing for a doctor and despite the fact that it may be overlooked I want to say middle schools are very important time in my life and it did shape me to be the person I am today parents and students I just want to say if you choose Mount Gleason I think you'll understand my feeling my staff's feeling here is your part of a new family and will be here for you we're here in a partnership to make your child's experience the best possible for middle school and have them prepared to move on to high school and have a good experience in that transition
